North Tipp's last seat will be a battle

Almost two-thirds of the ballot boxes have been tallied for North Tipperary and already the heat is on for an exciting finish.

Observers are predicting counting for North and South Tipperary could be wrapped up today, with both three-seater constituencies filled by end of business today.

At 64% of the boxes tallied the results are as follows:

Lowry (IND) 27.6%

Kelly (Labour) 15.3%

O’Meara (FF) 13.8%

Smith (FF) 11.5%

Bugler (FG) 8.4%

Ryan (IND) 8.0%

Harty (SF) 6.6%

Barry (SF) 2.0%

O’Toole (AON) 1.7%

Pocock (GP) 1.7%

O’Dwyer (PBP) 1.2%

Madden (IP) 0.9%

Minehan (IND) 0.3%

Phelan (IND) 0.5%
