Birr's St. Brendan's Park to host first senior semi-final since 2006

St Brendan's Park

Birr GAA has announced that St. Brendan's Park will once again play host to 'big-time' hurling as it hosts an Offaly Senior Hurling Championship semi-final on September 23.

Birr said they were delighted to announce that there will be a big double-header in St Brendan’s Park on the day with an intermediate game also taking to the hallowed ground at 'the home of Offaly hurling."

The IHC game between Birr and St Rynagh’s at 3pm will be the curtain-raiser for the senior clash of Coolderry and Belmont at 4.45pm.

This will be the first Offaly SHC semi-final played in Birr since 2006 and the club says it is long overdue "recognition of the tremendous work of our field committee led by Pat Thompson."
