Rhode & Croghan Lourdes Committee was founded over 40 years ago  with the aim to raise funds in aid of sending members of our community to Lourdes. Unfortunately many families have been touched by illness and as a result many have benefited from this fund. The Committee members are 100% volunteers. We rely on the generosity of the community to help fund the yearly trip to Lourdes which have been wholeheartedly enjoyed by all who travelled. This year along with our annual fun bike ride we are joining with Rhode GAA underage in a Walk/run on the 2nd of June. We would welcome all to come out and take part in either or both events. As always we appreciate the generosity of our community to continue this fundraising effort.

Ballycumber 1-16  Kinnitty 3-10

Ballycumber met a very strong and fit Kinnitty team in Ballycumber on Friday evening and did well to come out of the fixture with a draw. After an early exchange of points Kinnitty got a goal and maintained the lead until half time. Ballycumber aided by the breeze in the second half established a six point advantage and seemed destined for victory. But, a determined move by the visitors was rewarded with a well taken goal and with time almost up another attack yielded a penalty which was driven to the net to tie up the scores. The home side were short a few regulars and with limited numbers did well to get the result.

Team: Kyle Cornally, Brian Halligan, Aaron Daly, Kenneth Delaney, Corey Tyrell, Michael Egan, David Ayres, Shaun Creevy, Mel Guinan, Andrew Grennan, Fergal Daly, Conrad Casey, Kevin Kelly, Paul Kelly, Paddy Cosgrove, Peter Dunne.

We wish Paddy Cosgrove a speedy recovery from injury.

K Buggy Coaches Division 2 Football League

Ballycumber 0-16 Walsh Island 0-16.

Walsh Island led this game by two or three points for almost the entire sixty minutes and were three points up at 0—16 to 0—13 with a few minutes left but a great fight back by the home side,  who had lost leading scorer Joe Lowry through injury, yielded three points from play to tie up the scores. This was a team performance but Cormac Quinn, Karl Daly and Luke Gavin Mangan stood out and special mention for Michael Egan and Fergal Daly who played again on Saturday afternoon after having a very tough game on Friday evening.

Best wishes to Joe Lowry for a speedy recovery from injury.

Team: Leo Guinan, Alan Flanagan, Karl Daly, Clive Keena, John Egan, Michael Egan, Ethan Keena, Tom Corcoran, Cormac Quinn, Gary Larkin, Sean Hackett, Joe Lowry, Luke Gavin Mangan, Nigel Grennan, Adrian Kelly, Fergal Daly.
