2:15 pm (Thursday, May 17) Girls Football Group D Final Boher N.S. vs Pullough N.S.

Boher N.S 0-9

Pullough 5-2

This contest got off to slow start as both teams found possession hard to come by. The tackling in both defences was also a factor in the first half as we waited seven minutes for the first score from Boher's Aimee Dunne.

Pullough replied with interest thanks to a goal from Leah Taylor on 12 minutes. The tie was closely contested but just two minutes later, Pullough fired themselves into a commanding lead as Sarah Cleary hammered home another goal, putting her school into a 2-0 to 0-1 lead at the break.

The second half couldn't have been more different as an end-to-end battle came to life. Boher's accurate point taking ability was matched by the goal-getting attack of Pullough, igniting a brilliant contest in O'Connor Park.

Emma Kelly opened the scoring for Boher but Pullough again replied with a goal through Ella Buckley. Despite the green flags cancelling out much of Boher's good work, they were not giving up without a fight and Emma Kelly and Eabha Greville grabbed two points each as the sides were level midway through the second period.

Pullough substitute Eabha-Mai Tierney fired back with another brilliant point before a goal by her teammate Sarah Cleary had Boher on the back foot once more. Boher, however, were highly accurate and Emma Kelly knocked over another point soon after Pullough's fourth goal to make it a two-point game.

Caoimhe Lynam put three between the sides again for Pullough before Kelly once again replied in a pulsating game. With goals worth two and just minutes remaining, Pullough led by two on a 4-2 to 0-8 scoreline.

After such a tussle, there was always going to be heartache for one team and that arrived for Boher in the final minutes as Abbey Tierney blasted to the net. A late Emma Touhey point wasn't enough for Boher as they went down on a 5-2 to 0-9 scoreline, a two-point win for a goal-hungry Pullough outfit.
