St. Manchan's Ladies Football


Our Feile Draw will take place on Friday 25th May in 'The Cat & Bagpipes' with music by 'No Bodder'. Tickets €5 are available form parents, players and committee members. Please support. 

Cumman na mBunscoil

Well done to the girls from Tubber NS and Pullough NS who were victorious in their Cumman na mBunscoil Finals last week.


Well done to our U14 ladies who defeated Tullamore in the first round of the U14 championship. 


Best of luck to our Junior Ladies who play Naomh Ciaran in the Division 3 League final on Sunday 27th at 12 noon in Durrow. 

U8 & U10

The U8 & U10 girls will take part in a blitz hosted by Tullamore on 16th June. 


Training continues for all from u6 to u16 on Saturday mornings from 10am until 11am alternating between Ballycumber and Tubber pitches. For more info contact 085 2206028. New players are always most welcome!

Lotto Results Sunday 20th May
Numbers drawn were: 1 - 6 - 9 - 26. We had no Jackpot winner. We had 6 match 3's who will receive €25 each.

U11 Hurlers

Well done to the Clara U11 Hurlers who travelled to Portlaoise for a challenge match on Sunday finishing with a draw of 4-5 to 5-2, before attending the 2nd Round of the Leinster Senior Hurling Championship of Offaly v Kilkenny in Nowlan Park.

A special thank you to our U11 club mentors for organising this for the players.   
Offaly U14 Football Development Squad

Congratulations to Clara GAA players Marcus Dalton, Barry Egan and Callum Dunne who represented Offaly's U14 Footballers against Laois and Carlow on Saturday the 19th May at the Laois Centre of Excellence.

Clara / Brosna Gaels U14 Féile Hurling Fundraiser

For the first time in 30 years Clara GAA club along with Brosna Gaels are going to compete in the National John West Féile na nGeal hurling festival. There will be 256 hurling and camogie sides in action over the weekend with 128 host sides (72 hurling and 56 camogie sides) in action with the same amount of teams visiting the province of Connacht. 

The league games commence on Friday evening, 8th June with round three games quarter finals on Saturday 9th June, followed by the semi finals and finals on Sunday 10th June.

To help fund the U14 Hurlers' participation in the competition, a table quiz will be held in The Mill House on Friday 1st June at 9:30pm. Tables of four are €20.  

There are also scorecards for the upcoming inter-county hurling championship game between Offaly and Wexford on Saturday evening 26th May in Bord na Mona O'Connor Park.

All support will be greatly appreciated.

U17 Football League

Our U17s Footballers played St Vincent’s in the League on Wednesday evening 16th May, losing out by only a point in the end on a score line of Clara 0-09 to St. Vincent’s 0-10. The team lined out as follows:

2018 Cúl Camps

The 2018 Cúl Camps will return to Clara once again from Monday 9th - Friday 13th July.  Registration is now open and further details can be found at

Tuesday 22nd May: Division 1 Football League Round 6: Clara Vs Ferbane in O'Brien Park @ 7:30 pm    

Thursday 24th May: U17 Football League Gold Round 3:  Clara v Edenderry in Edenderry Main Grounds @12:00pm.

Sunday 27th May: 

U15 F Semi Final White: Rhode v Clara in Mucklagh GAA pitch @ 1:00 pm

Division 4 League Gold Round 3: Clara v Kilclonfert in Clara @ 3:30 pm 

New Traffic Layout - Pairc Phronsias, Kilcoursey:

All patrons and visitors are requested to follow the new traffic flow at Pairc Phronsias, Kilcoursey.  All cars/pedestrians are to access playing fields via the town side of the Convent (closest to Scoil Bhríde) and continue around the other side of the convent (Kilcoursey side) to exit.



The numbers drawn on Wednesday 14th May were 2,4,7 and 25. There was two match 3 winners, Joe Brennan and also Margaret and Peg. Next week’s jackpot is €3,200.

Division 3 League

Daingean play Ferbane in round 6 of the league on Thursday(24th May) at 7:30 in Daingean. With no championship matches for the next couple of months, these league matches are an important footballing outlet during this lull period. As the match is in Daingean, please come and support the lads. (Please check the fixtures section to confirm match time)

GAA Cul Camps

The GAA Cul camp will be held in Daingean from 9th to the 13th July, to avoid disappointment please ensure you book early.

Ballycumber GAA Club

World War 1

The World War 1 Historian Patrick Callan will speak about The Great War in the Barracks, Ballycumber on Saturday 26th May at 11am.

Ballycumber GAA History Group extend an Open Invitation to anyone with an interest or family involvement in World War 1 to attend. Light refreshments will be served.

The Group would welcome any war memorabilia, photos, medals or literature connected to the 81 men and women with family connections to Ballycumber who went to war.

Junior B Championship

Ballycumber will welcome Kinnitty to Ballycumber on Friday evening at 7.30pm in the Offaly Junior B Football Championship. All support is appreciated.

Division 2 Round 3 Football League

Ballycumber will take on Walsh Island at home on Saturday next 26th May at 3 o’clock. All support is much appreciated.


We thank Cappincur GAA Club for a very worthwhile match on Sunday.

Cumann na mBunscoil

Boher Boys football team came up against a very strong Tubber team in the Boys Football Group B Final in O’Connor Park on Thursday. The boys tried their best but it was not enough to gain victory. Congratulations to Tubber on adding the boys title to the girls title they won also.

Boher Girls team lost out to neighbours Pullough in the Girls Football Group D Final also played in O’Connor Park on Thursday. The girls had plenty of possession of the ball but try as they did, the ball would not go between the posts and the Pullough girls made better use of the possession they had. A very enjoyable game of football ended with victory for the Pullough Girls and we congratulate them on their win.

Dance Classes

Learn how to Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Line Dance. Classes held every Monday night in Ballycumber Community Centre. Beginners classes from 8pm to 9pm. Intermediates from 9pm to 10pm and dancing for all from 10pm to 11pm.


The numbers drawn this week were 1,11,14,17. No jackpot winner, four match three winners. Next week’s draw will be held in Gussies on Monday night at 10 o’clock for a jackpot of 4550 euros.
