Division 3 Hurling League
Clara adult hurlers welcomed Kilcormac/Killoughey over to Pairc Phroinsias on Tuesday evening (May 1) in what was their first competitive game of the year. Played on a wet and dull evening but the game itself was far from that. This was a very entertaining match from start to finish against an experienced Kilcormac-Killoughey side. Clara went in at the break leading on a scoreline of Clara 0-9 to Kilcormac-Killoughey 0-5.
Kilcormac-Killoughey made a few changes at half time and came out firing on all cylinders and brought it back to a single point. Two well taking goals by Cathal O'Meara gave Clara a bit of breathing space as Kilcormac-Killoughey threw everything at a well organised Clara defence. Clara ran out deserving winners on a scoreline of Clara 2-15 to Kilcormac-Killoughey's 0-17. This was a very good run out for the team despite having to wait until May 1st for a competitive game.
The Clara team and scorers were:
1. Marius Stones;
2. Dermot Doolan;
3. John Ledwith;
4. James Fleming;
5. Martin Fleming;
6. Ciaran Doyle;
7. Alan Gavin;

Tullamore Court Hotel Offaly Junior B Football Championship
Ballycumber 2-13 Tullamore 1-10.
Ballycumber got their championship campaign off to a good start with a six point victory over Tullamore. The game was played in glorious sunshine in Ballycumber on Saturday evening and the football on display was of a very good standard.
Tullamore got the perfect start to the game with a goal and they were looking dangerous on attack. The Ballycumber midfield pairing of Fergal Daly and Mel Guinan began to win more ball and brought the forwards into the game. Points from Conrad Casey, Andrew Grennan and Peter Dunne and a goal from Paul Kelly brought the sides level. Mel Guinan went on a long run through the heart of the Tullamore defence before unleashing a rocket of a shot to the corner of the net. He quickly added a point and Conrad Casey finished the first half scoring to leave the home side leading by 2-5 to 1-4.
The second half was evenly contested with both sides having goal scoring chances blocked by defenders. Ballycumber added eight points to their half time tally with points from David Ayres, Fergal Daly, Peter Dunne, Mel Guinan, Andrew Grennan and Conrad Casey.
Round 2 of the championship will see Ballycumber travel to Mucklagh to take on Shamrocks on Friday evening next at 7pm. All support is much appreciated.

NA FIANNA GAA
MINOR (U17) FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Na Fianna Minor Footballers having won the opening round of the League against Tullamore saw the other side of the coin as they were defeated by St Broughans in Rd 2 last Wednesday evening in Bracknagh on a scoreline of 7-08 to 5-05. Na Fianna, who were without at least 12 players from their Offaly Minor Football & Hurling contingent along with representatives on Tullamore rugby panel and just a bare team, were always going to be up against it but battled bravely as they clawed their way back a few times. St Broughans led at the break by 2-05 to 2-01 with the Na Fianna goals from a Jacob Beatty penalty and a fine individual effort from James Bryan. Within 10 mins of the re-start Na Fianna had gone in front with 3 goals from Barry Crombie, Adam Strong and David Carthy to 1-01 from St Broughans but by the 20 min a 4 goal haul to just a single Na Fianna point put St Broughans well ahead again but in the last 10 mins neither side could add to their goal scoring exploits, Na Fianna with 3 points to St Broughans 2 to enable St Broughans see out the time to claim the win.
NA FIANNA: Martin Kelly, David Carthy (1-00), David Boland, Diarmuid Finneran, Jack Gorry, Adam Strong (1-01),
Eoin McGuinness, Barry Crombie (1-00), Ryan Strong, James Bryan (1-02), Mark Henry, Jacob Beatty (1-02), Donal
Murphy, Cian Brophill.
U15 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
