Offaly GAA Club Notes (January 30)

Ballycumber GAA Club

Offaly Hurling

Congratulations to Thomas Spain [Brosna Gaels] and all the Offaly Hurling panel and management on their performance in Croke Park against Dublin on Saturday evening. It was the perfect start to their League campaign.

History

Ballycumber GAA History Group are researching the names of many people from this area who fought in World War 1. We have found good information on the men who lost their lives. It is much more difficult to find details of those who survived the War. Many of the records were burned during the German bombing of London in World War 2. We understand that 72 young people left the Ballycumber area and so far we have details of 12. We would welcome any help.
