Leinster Senior Club Football Championship
Rhode Senior Footballers booked a place into the Leinster Senior Club semi final for a fifth time as they overcame Simonstown Gaels of Meath on Sunday afternoon last on a score-line of 1-12 to 1-9.
Going into the first 15 minutes Rhode found themselves behind by two points and they showed major work-rate and belief to claw their way back and it paid off with the scoreboard reading
Rhode 0-6 Simonstown 0-4 at half-time. Rhode Kicked on further ahead and twenty minutes into the second half Conor McNamee hit the back of the net to put us up by six points 1-10 to 0-7. Simonstown fought back hard and got a goal taken from a penalty leaving it very close encounter as they added another point which brought Rhodes lead down to two points. Rhode However held their nerve excellently and in injury time went down the field and got a much needed score to extend the lead. Full-Time Score Rhode 1-12 Simonstown Gaels 1-9.

Rhode will now travel to Drogheda to take on the Louth Champions Sean O'Mahony,s on Sunday, November 27.

There was no winner of the Rhode GAA Lotto Draw that took place on the 7th of November for a Jackpot of €15,000. The numbers drawn were 6, 9, 13, 30. The club would like to thank all those who supported the draw and thanks to Killeens for the use of their premises and for their help and cooperation. Offaly U-13 took part in a blitz at the weekend and on team from Rhode were Dylan Kilmurray, Shane Murphy,Sean Choudary, Cian Murphy and Cian Conroy. Jack Murphy was not present due to illness.
Hard Luck to Cathal McNamee on been beaten in a tiebreaker in the All Ireland one wall C final at the weekend.
