The Offaly Senior Hurling team that won the county's only National Hurling League title in 1991 will be the Guests of Honour at this Sunday's county Minor and Senior Hurling Finals in O'Connor Park in Tullamore.

On May 12, 1991, Offaly created history when they overcame Wexford by 2-6 to 0-10. They had overcome Waterford by 3-14 to 0-14 in the quarter-final and followed up with a 1-7 to 0-7 win over Tipperary in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

Almost 23,000 spectators were in Croke Park for the historic final win.

The victorious team and management from 1991 are special guests at Sunday’s county finals and will be introduced to the crowd during the interval between the two games.
