Tullamore claimed their 27th Offaly Minor Football title on Sunday after a thrilling win over defending champions Ferbane/Belmont in the final
Offaly MFC Final
Three goals in a frantic seven minute spell proved decisive as Tullamore held on despite a determined fightback by Ferbane/Belmont.
The early goals put Tullamore into a comfortable eight point lead but Ferbane/Belmont set about their task and a goal from Ciaran Cahill and a string of well taken points reduce the deficit but and Ferbane/Belmont incredibly got their noses in front at the break leading 1-10 to 3-3.
It was nip and tuck in the second-half but the game was decided ten minutes from time when Daniel Galvin fired home Tullamore’s fourth and decisive goal.
The Blues closed out the game from there sparking scenes of great celebration when the final whistle sounded.
