A week after their male counterparts went head to head in the Championship, the ladies of Edenderry and Rhode will go head to head in the Ladies Senior Football Final in O’Connor Park at 2pm this Sunday.
The rivalry between the ladies is arguably even more intense than between the men of the clubs as the Rhode and Edenderry ladies have had a monopoly on the title in recent years.
Edenderry claimed the bragging rights last year so expect Rhode to be going all out to regain the title this time around.
Edenderry qualified for the final thanks to a 3-12 to 0-7 win over Shamrocks in Tubber last Sunday while Rhode were pushed all the way in a thrilling encounter with St Rynagh’s.
Between them the sides scored an incredible 8-28 with Rhode just edging the result by 4-16 to 4-12.
With both Rhode and Edenderry in fine attacking form, this game should be a thriller and expect plenty of support for both teams in O’Connor Park
The Junior Final has yet to be fixed but it will feature St Vincent’s and Clara.
Clara played Ferbane on Sunday in Durrow in their semi-final winning on a score line of 4-13 to 1-6 while St Vincents took on Doon/Shannonbridge in the second game in Durrow coming out winners on a 5-8 to 1-12 score line.
Offaly Ladies Football extended thanks to all Clubs who have facilitated the County Board with pitches this year.
