KILCORMAC/KILLOUGHEY clubman and former All Ireland winning goalkeeper Stephen Byrne has joined the Offaly Senior Hurling management team as a selector.
The 1998 All Star winner joins manager Ollie Baker and selector Mark Corrigan as they set out in 2013 with a panel that for the first time in 32 years which doesn’t include an All Ireland medal winner.
There have been a number of high profile retirements in recent weeks leaving some key positions to be filled in the side.
Offaly will start their Walsh Cup campaign on January 27 against the winners of the game between Wexford and DIT.
Offaly will then play in Division 1B of the Allianz Hurling League alongside Dublin, Limerick, Wexford, Antrim and Carlow.
Meanwhile Ger Coughland and Aidan Hanrahan have been ratified as the management team for the Offaly U-21 hurlers.
