Semi-Final line up decided for U-21 Hurling Championship

The quarter-finals of the Aidan Bracken Building Design Under 21 Hurling Championship were played on Sunday last with Tullamore, St Brendans, St Rynaghs and Seir Kieran all progressing to the last four.

The quarter-finals of the Aidan Bracken Building Design Under 21 Hurling Championship were played on Sunday last with Tullamore, St Brendans, St Rynaghs and Seir Kieran all progressing to the last four.

Last year’s champions Ballinamere Gaels went down in O’Brien Park by the narrowest of margins to Tullamore on a scoreline of Tullamore 1-13 Ballinamere Gaels 0-15.

Last year’s beaten finalists Coolderry Og also bowed out to St Brendans losing 3-6 to 0-9.

Seir Kieran had a comfortable win over Kilcormac/Killoughey on a scoreline of 3-15 to 0-11 and St Rynaghs overcame St Marys1-18 to 2-12.

A Stephen Flannery goal saw St Rynaghs lead 1-9 to 0-7 at the break. Goals from Donal Morkan and Shane McKelvey brought St Marys back on level terms midway through the second half but St Rynaghs pulled away in the end to reach the last four.

The draw for the semi finals was made at O’Connor Park on Sunday afternoon with St Brendans drawn against Seir Kieran and Tullamore playing St Rynagh’s. Details on the dates for these semi finals will be finalised in due course.
