Ugly sideline incident overshadows Ballycumber win

A disgraceful incident late in the game where a young Edenderry player was allegedly struck by a Ballycumber mentor overshadowed an otherwise entertaining Division 1 Football League in Mucklagh on Saturday evening.

A disgraceful incident late in the game where a young Edenderry player was allegedly struck by a Ballycumber mentor overshadowed an otherwise entertaining Division 1 Football League in Mucklagh on Saturday evening.

Ballycumber 1-17 Edenderry 0-13 (aet)

The incident happened close to the end of the game when Edenderry were leading by a point and were very much the team in control. It broke their momentum and Ballycumber equalised late in the game.

Extra-time was all one way traffic with Ger Egan very much to the fore as Ballycumber pulled away to win with ease with Eamon McCabe’s late goal putting a gloss on the final score-line.
