However after coming from behind to take the lead with six unanswered points in the second-half, Offaly needed a last second save from a 21 metre free from goalkeeper James Dempsey to seal the win.
Wexford had the advantage of the wind in the first-half and built a 0-10 to 0-4 lead at the break. They also hit eight wides however in the first-half meaning Offaly were well in touch given the strength of the wind.

With 50 minutes gone, Wexford still held the lead at 0-13 to 0-10 before eventually Offaly clicked into gear going on a scoring streak that eventually turned the game in their favour.

From the 51st to 65th minutes Offaly lads hit six unanswered points through Shane Dooley, Cathal Parlon, Joe Bergin, Odhran Kealey, Thomas Carroll and Derek Morkan to move 0-16 to 0-13 clear.

Wexford pulled back a point from a free and they had one last chance to snatch a win but James Dempsey saved a 21 metre free from his opposite number Mark Fanning to seal the win for Offaly.
