THE Offaly side to face Carlow in the fifth round of the Allianz Football League this Saturday, March 16th at 2pm in O’Connor Park, Tullamore shows two changes in personnel from the team that defeated Leitrim, 0-9 to 0-8, last Sunday.
Team captain Niall McNamee (Rhode), introduced as a sub against Leitrim, and Tullamore’s John Moloney are included in the starting XV by manager Emmet McDonnell with Ross Brady (Clara) losing out although he is named on the bench, while Bracknagh’s Peter Cunningham is unavailable owing to suspension.
St Brigid’s Ken Casey, who has been unavailable due to injury up to now, is named among the subs. The last occasion Offaly and Carlow met in the Allianz Football League was on Saturday, February 9th, 2008 in Dr Cullen Park, a game Offaly won by 3-19 to 0-8. Five of the players that featured that day are part of the squad for this latest encounter between the counties – Brian Darby, Alan & Niall McNamee, Paul McConway and Ken Casey.
Saturday’s game in O’Connor Park will be preceded at 12.15pm by an Irish Daily Star National Camogie League Division 1 fixture between Offaly and Cork.
And after the final whistle of the Offaly versus Carlow encounter, Carroll’s Ham, official sponsors of Offaly GAA, invite all supporters to join them and Offaly County Board for the announcement of the renewal of their sponsorship and also the launch of the new Offaly jersey in the Club Faithful Supporters Zone.
Carroll’s Ham have sponsored Offaly GAA since 1991 and to mark the extension of their sponsorship Carroll’s Ham are going to give a complimentary cup of tea and a Carroll’s Ham sandwich to all match goers at this Saturday’s double bill in O’Connor Park.
