THE Offaly Ladies Football team made a winning start to their league campaign with a good win away from home.
The girls traveled to Carlow for the game and came away with an impressive 2-11 to 2-6 victory.
Top scorer on the day was Sinead Taylor who finished with 2-3 with Kym Furey chipping in with four points, Terese Hickey with two and Aishling O’Connor and Orla Heavy adding one apiece.
Offaly face another tough assignment this week when they have to travel north to face Antrim.
The Saffrons claimed an All Ireland Junior title in 2009 and opened their campaign last Sunday with a 5-15 to 0-9 win over their Ulster rivals Derry.
However after a great overall team performance last weekend, the Offaly team will have received a great confidence boost at this early stage of the season and will travel fully expecting to register a second win.
