The Offaly team to face Westmeath in the Bord na Mona O’Byrne Cup this Sunday has been announced.
One of the big changes new manager Gerry Cooney has made sees goalkeeper for the last two years Alan Mulhall move up through the lines to full forward. A reliable free taker, Mulhall has been amongst the top scorers in the Offaly Senior Football Championship for the past two seasons. Clara’s Kevin Meehan comes into goals with his clubmate Lorcan Hiney making his debut at wing-back.
Tullamore’s Paul McConway returns to the side at full-back while Ferbane’s Aidan Keenaghan gets the nod in the half-forward line.
Offaly lost out to Carlow in a challenge game last weekend while the Pat Flanagan managed Westmeath warmed up with a comfortable win over Wicklow. The game throws in at 2pm this Sunday in O’Connor Park.
