Adam Kinahan will referee the SHC final
THE Molloy Precast and Environmental Systems Senior Hurling Championship final in Tullamore on Sunday, October 19 will have an unusually early time of 1pm after TG4 requested rights to televise it live.
They can only show it at 1pm and the Offaly GAA Competitions Control Committee duly approved a 1pm throw in at a meeting on Monday evening while Adam Kinahan of Clodiagh Gaels will be the referee.
The TG4 broadcast will result in a significant financial spin off for the County Board and a 1pm throw in should not be an issue for anyone.
The winners of Kilcormac-Killoughey v Birr and Shinrone v Belmont will compete in the final which will now be a stand-alone fixture – while some underage finals are being played at 11am on a Saturday and Sunday morning, they won't want to go that early on county final day and playing a game after it is a non runner.
