THE fixture details for the Leinster Minor Football Championship final has been announced by Leinster Council.

All roads will lead to the impressively redeveloped St Conleth's Park in Newbridge for the meeting of Offaly and Louth on Monday, May 19 with a 7.30pm throw in.

The match will attract big interest in both counties. Louth are on the crest of a wave after qualifying for the Leinster Senior, U20 and Minor Football Championship finals while the rejuvenation of the Offaly minor football team after a real roller coaster of a year is capturing the imagination of supporters,

Louth recorded a comprehensive win over Offaly in the group stages but the Faithful have improved steadily since then and will fancy their prospects of an upset. They can blow very hot and cold, sometimes in the blink of an eye in games – when they do lose their way, they sustain too much damage and conceded 1-7 without reply in a traumatic ten minute spell before half time in Wednesday's dramatic semi-final win over Kildare.

A 2-4 to 0-3 lead transformed into a 1-10 to 2-4 half time deficit and Offaly were five points behind a few minutes into the second half. This exciting young team, however, are displaying serious character and bottle and they staged a terrific comeback to snatch a fantastic 4-9 to 1-16 win.
