Grooms in Offaly were on average 2.3 years older than brides in the county in 2013 according to statistics released by the Central Statistics Office.
The average age of a groom was 35.3 years old with the average age of a bride being 33 years young.
The majority of grooms were between 30 and 34 (119) while the majority brides were between 25 and 29 (103)
Six grooms were over 60 while four brides were over 60.
In total there were 384 marriages in Offaly in 2013. Of those 275 were Roman Catholic, 12 were Church of Ireland, one Presbyterian, 12 were other religious denominations while 84 were Civil Marriages.
Meanwhile 72 divorces were granted in Offaly in 2013.
