SEAT Ireland’s new Toledo has gone on sale in dealerships. The all-new model has a starting price of just €16,890 and is available with a choice of two 1.2-litre TSI petrol engines and two 1.6-litre TDI diesel engines.
The 1.2-litre TSI engine is available with two power outputs, with 85- and 105bhp. Both of these petrol engines offer the very latest in efficiency and have low emissions of just 119g/km and 125g/km respectively. Both of these petrol engines are fuel-efficient too, returning 5.1 l/100km (85bhp) and 5.4 l/100km (105bhp).
Those who prefer diesel power have a choice between two power outputs for the 1.6-litre diesel engine, with either 90- or 105bhp. Both of these diesel engines have emissions of just 114g/km. For Ireland, the 105bhp 1.6-litre diesel will be the first engine offered, with the 90bhp unit arriving in August 2013.
There is also the option of choosing the 1.6 TDI ECO, which brings the emissions down even further to just 104g/km. Eco stands for Ecomotive Technology, which includes a Start/Stop engine system, and an Energy Recovery System to capture brake energy otherwise lost as heat, storing it to help power the car’s electrical systems.
The Toledo offers one of the most generous footprints in its class, with generous interior space and simply massive boot, with 550-litres. While very much in the design of a saloon, the Toledo is in fact a hatchback which adds to the car’s practicality.
There are two specification levels in the Toledo, Reference and Style. Reference grade cars are the entry-point to the Toledo range and include six airbags (front, side and curtain) and ESC stability control as well as the SEAT Media system which includes Bluetooth, Aux-in, USB port and a multi-function steering wheel.
Most sales are likely to come from the Style grade which adds air conditioning, front fog lights, cruise control, 16” alloy wheels, rear electric windows and a leather trimmed steering wheel to the Reference model.
There are a total of ten exterior colour options for the new Toledo and three interior trim colours and two additional alloy wheels options of 16” and 17” sizes. Other options available include Satellite Navigation from €704, a winter pack (heated front seats, headlight washers, heated washer nozzles) for €376 and rear parking sensors for €187.
The 1.2 TSI Reference starts at just €16,890, with the 1.2 TSI Style costing €19,590. The majority of sales are still likely to come from one of the diesel versions with the 105bhp diesel starting from €20,590.
The Toledo, like all new SEATs now comes with 3-years Free Servicing, a 3-year warranty, 3-years roadside assistance and customers can avail of a hugely competitive 3% finance rate, one of the lowest rates available from any lender. Also, customers who order their new Toledo or indeed any SEAT before December 21 will receive 3,000km of fuel absolutely free.
SEAT Ireland Director Cian O’Brien says that the arrival of the new Toledo to Ireland is the continuation of what will be a raft of new product to come. “The Toledo really is the perfect car for the Irish market and we are really excited about its arrival. Hot on the heels of the new SEAT Ibiza and Mii and just months away from the arrival of an all-new SEAT Leon it points to an exciting new product line-up for SEAT in 2013 and beyond.”
