Give a gift with a difference this Mother’s Day

This Mother’s Day, Sunday, April 3, honour the mother figure in your life by giving the perfect gift of a flock of laying hens.

All mums worry about their children and mothers in the developing world are no different. Could you imagine not being able to provide for your children? It’s something that mothers in the developing world, who live with poverty and disease, struggle with every day. Bóthar’s laying hen projects are very successful and provide a family with a daily supply of protein rich eggs that will improve their diet. Families may also sell any surplus eggs for income. The money earned from the sale of eggs at local markets can pay for other sources of food and even medicine. It can even go so far as to pay for school fees.

These are indeed life-saving eggs. A small donation of just n50 will contribute to a flock of chicks for a poor family by providing full preparatory training, 10 chicks, and veterinary backup. When you make a donation, Bóthar will then send you a gift-card to tell your loved one about the special gift you are giving in her honour.

Give the gift of life to your mother hen this year!
