The recently opened Midlands Martial Arts and Training Centre in Tullamore will break even newer ground on October 28 and 29, as their will be a continuous 24 hour training seminar in aid of Orans Wish To Walk.
This is an initiative set up to raise funds for four-year old Oran Molloy from Birr who suffers from Cerebral Palsy. Having worked hard at Physiotherapy he has been successful in getting approval to have an operation to have an operation in the United States to ensure that he can walk, providing the family raise a minimum of €50,000.
The Martial Arts Community will now do its part, running a relay of classes being delivered by Mr Martin Cousins of East Coast Martial Arts, Mr Ken Keating of South Dublin Martial Arts, and Mr Darren Hand of Midlands Martial Arts. Sifu Gerard McCarthy will also run Tai Chi workshops during that time.
Other high ranking Martial Artists from throughout the country and abroad will also attend. This will now be a mammoth international effort to raise the necessary funds to ensure that this Little Samurai will see his dream come to fruition.
