PICTURES: Three unforgettable days as National Ploughing Championships come to a close

Thousands of people descended on the Co Offaly site over the course of the event

The curtain has come down on another hugely successful National Ploughing Championships following three action-packed days in Screggan.

Thousands of people descended on the Co Offaly site over the course of the event, with visitors travelling from across Ireland and further afield to enjoy everything from the ploughing competitions and agricultural displays to live entertainment, food, fashion and shopping.

The three days also saw plenty of familiar faces make their way around the site, alongside farmers, exhibitors, competitors, families and visitors of all ages soaking up the unique atmosphere of one of Ireland's biggest annual events.

From the opening crowds on Tuesday morning to the final competitions and celebrations on Thursday afternoon, our photographers were on hand throughout the championships to capture the people, personalities and memorable moments that made up this year's event.

As the crowds begin to make their way home and the gates close on the 2026 championships, take a look through our gallery below.
