PICTURES: Crowds flock to Experience Offaly ploughing pavilion

The Experience Offaly Pavilion at the National Ploughing Championships has been showcasing all the Faithful County has to offer to thousands of visitors.

The pavilion is located at Block 4 Row 8 Stand 152 at the site in Screggan and has been promoting all that Offaly has to offer since the Ploughing Championships opened its gates early on Tuesday morning.

An estimated 77,000 people attended the first day, and with a generally positive weather forecast, the event is expected to be busy throughout Tuesday and for the final day on Thursday.

Cathal Nolan, otherwise known as Offaly Weatherman, said there will be a little rain overnight into Thursday.

“But that’s not expected to cause any concern and just sunshine and showers again on Thursday. So, pretty good conditions at this year’s ploughing,” he said.

More than 250,000 people are expected in the county over the three days to take in all the Ploughing has to offer; from trade stalls, entertainment, food, drink and interactive experiences.

Traffic has been moving very freely as Offaly experiences one of the most successful National Ploughing Championships yet!
