Exciting new music festival launched in Roscrea
Roscrea Music Festival 2026 was officially launched on Friday
Roscrea Castle will be the stunning backdrop for a new music festival coming to the heritage town in September.
The exciting new event was officially launched on Friday last with performances by some of the stellar acts in Allison’s Lily O’Brien’s venue on Castle Street.
Chair of the organising committee, Alison Hynes welcomed an enthusiastic crowd to her pub on Castle Street for a taste of the vibe of the festival with a mini performance by local group Nomads and a rousing rendition of rising star Jack Keeshan’s new single ‘Roscrea Sky’.
In her address, she thanked the many sponsors, committee members and supporters who have helped the new Festival get to this point, as well as the local artists and bands who have generously given their time as part of what will be a very exciting line up, culminating with the vibrant ABBA Gold.
The Roscrea Music Festival 2026 is a free event and is planned for Saturday, September 12th on Castle Street.
It's sure to be a fantastic and uplifting day for the town and all visitors and will showcase Roscrea’s well established reputation as a stronghold of local musicians of all genres.
Earlier this year Roscrea hosted the Tipperary County Fleadh and the heritage town is a well known nursery for talented musicians who have gone on to perform on stages around the world.
Headlining the event are the much loved tribute act ABBA Gold and joining them on the night will be comedian MC Donna Fletcher, Jack Keeshan and Edel Pender, Nomads, Nirvana tribute act With The Lights Out, Johnny Keegan’s group The Country Crew, Essence Of Blue, A Dying Breed, James McKelvey, Eddie Simmons, Michael Hutchinson and many more.
