Tipperary Sinn Féin TD Martin Browne has hailed Sinn Fein’s Local and European Election Launch on Sunday as a 'hugely positive show of the depth of ambition to bring change, and the energy to deliver that positive change to our communities'.

Sinn Féin's Tipperary team selected so far are: Tony Black (Tipperary/Cashel LEA), Annemarie Ryan (Tipperary/Cashel LEA), Cathal Ó hÉanna (Cahir LEA), Dean McGrath (Clonmel LEA), Natasha C Dingivan (Clonmel LEA), David Dunne (Carrick-on-Suir LEA), Dan Harty (Thurles LEA), Breandán Ó Conchúir (Roscrea/Templemore LEA), Damian O’Donoghue (Nenagh LEA), Gavin Ryan (Newport LEA). For the European Election (South Constituency): Kathleen Funchion and Paul Gavan.

Teachta Browne said: “Sunday’s event was clear evidence of Sinn Féin’s determination to bring positive change to our communities by fielding the strongest possible team of Sinn Féin local election candidates to bring the change that is so badly needed as a first step to getting this failed government out of office.

“Sinn Féin is running the largest number of candidates who are standing in every local electoral area in the country.

“Tipperary is no different. Tipperary Sinn Féin is intent on getting the strongest possible team of Sinn Féin councillors elected, who can then work with a Sinn Féin-led government after the next general election to deliver the largest social and affordable home building programme in the history of the state.

“Our local election candidates in Tipperary are actively engaging with people in their communities daily – they’re knocking on doors and are listening to what people are saying to them; and that message is clear - that the current government isn’t listening to them, and that change is needed.

“The inability to rent, to find an affordable home, the high cost of living, garda numbers, and increasingly difficult to access health services – the list of these concerns goes on.

“The change people want starts at the local and European Elections. Sinn Féin is currently running 335 local election candidates in every Local Electoral Area. Sinn Féin is running two European Election candidates in each of the three European constituencies.

“Sinn Féin is ambitious to bring about change. The ambition is evident in the calibre of candidates, their commitment to the communities across Tipperary they are all part of, and of course, in the number of candidates we are running.

“In Tipperary, we have a highly motivated, hardworking and energetic team who are intent on increasing Sinn Fein’s representation on Tipperary County Council so we can add to our already evident strengths to speak up for communities. If we couple this with what can be achieved by working alongside a Sinn Féin-led government after the next general election, then a real change for the better can be made for all,” Deputy Browne said.
