Main street of Offaly town to be one-way until two weeks before Christmas
Part of the main street in Edenderry is set to become a one-way system from Wednesday, October 15, to December 12 to facilitate works on the new library development.
The stretch of JKL street from the Carrick Road roundabout to the O'Connell Square will be a one-way facilitating traffic coming from the Carbury/Tesco side of the town only, Offaly County Council has advised.
Traffic heading through the town from the harbour side will have to turn off at the Carrick Road junction at the Bank of Ireland building and use a diversion on the new inner relief road to the opposite end of the town.
Buses will also be affected and passengers are being warned that the bus stop at O'Connell Square will be moved to outside the Medical Hall Pharmacy, while the bus stop at Aldi will be moved to opposite Lidl.

The new library and arts centre development is taking place on the old Tesco site in the centre of the town. The one-way system is to facilitate early works on the multi-million Euro project.
