The campaign was launched in Edenderry
The new logo for the ‘Not Around Us’ Offaly campaign was officially launched at Edenderry Playground on Friday, May 30to coincide with World No Tobacco Day.
‘Not Around Us’ is an invitation to consider healthy behaviours in public spaces where there are children and young people, to provide smoke/vape free environments for our young people and de-normalise smoking/vaping for the next generation.
The primary focus of the campaign is awareness with the installation of ‘Not Around Us’ signage in key targeted areas where adults and children gather.
Branded ‘No Smoking/Vaping’ signage with relevant QR codes will be installed in playgrounds across the county as part of a wider Offaly County Council playground signage project.
The signs will be bilingual and will include signposting to relevant quit services.
Not Around Us’ is a Local Authority initiative rolled out by Healthy Ireland and supported by Offaly County Council, Offaly LCDC, Offaly Sports Partnership and the HSE.
