Edenderry cumann of Fianna Fail is to seek the reinstatement of Cllr Eddie Fitzpatrick to the party.

Cllr Fitzpatrick stood as an Independent in last year's General Election after he failed to secure a Fianna Fail nomination at convention.

The development emerged at the recent well-attended Fianna Fáil meeting held on Friday, May 16, in O’Donoghues Lounge in Edenderry.

Outgoing Chairperson Cathal Tyrrell gave a comprehensive report to the meeting of what has happened in the cumann since the last meeting.

Cathal informed the meeting that since he is now Secretary of Offaly CDC, he will not be seeking re-election.

Fergal Swaine outgoing Secretary also advised the meeting that he also was not seeking re- election either. Both were thanked for their contribution to Fianna Fáil in Edenderry.
