The late Sean Norman
The town of Edenderry has been plunged into sadness after the death of iconic musician Sean Norman over the weekend.
Sean was known all over the country as a traditional Irish musician and was one of Edenderry's finest ever entertainers, playing locally, nationally and internationally for many years.
Sean died peacefully in the wonderful care of Ofalia House, Edenderry, surrounded by his loving family. he is predeceased by his wife Monica, sister Sr. Patrice and parents Stephen and Mary.
He is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his family, children Cathal, Geraldine and Seamus, sister Margaret, grandchildren Desmond, Stephen, David, Michael, Emma and Darragh, great grandchildren Jake, Fionn and Millie, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, fellow band members, Musicians and the wider Comhaltas family.
One tribute read: "Sincere condolences to Sean’s children, Cathal, Geraldine, Seamus, his sister Margaret and family. Extended family, relatives and all his friends whom he held in high esteem and mostly Edenderry whom he dearly loved and everyone loved Sean, he was one our own. He has now joined his beloved Monica, parents Steve and Mary, brother Seamus and sister Mary, entertaining all the saints in heaven with his beautiful Irish music R.I.P. Sean. Ar dheis De Ar a anam dilis."
Another said: "If ever there was a gentleman, it was Sean. I don’t think there is anyone he hasn’t touched the lives of, he was always so kind and friendly, always a smile on his face. He is going to be so dearly missed. May you rest in peace, Sean."
A third tribute read: "So sorry to hear about the passing of Sean, one of Edenderry's much loved gentlemen and musicians, who brought so much joy and happiness to so many. Deepest sympathy to Cahal, Seamus, Geraldine and Margaret. May his gentle soul Rest In Peace. I'm sure he is entertaining everyone in Heaven with his music and lilting."
Funeral Arrangements
Sean will repose in Larkin's Funeral Home Edenderry (Eircode R45 VK24), this Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm with rosary at 8pm. Sean's Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday at 2pm in St Mary's Church, Edenderry, followed by burial in St Mary's Cemetery.
