Paddy Keenan passed away on Sunday

Tributes have poured in following the sad death of Paddy Keenan, affectionately know as the Birdie, late of The Bungalow, Mucklagh, Tullamore, Offaly / Portarlington, Offaly.

Paddy passed away on peacefully on Sunday, June 16, surrounded by his loving family at Beaumont Hospital after a short illness bravely borne.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Ann, family Sinéad, Nodhlaig, Aine, Padraig and Máirtín, sister Celene (London), sons-in-law Padraig, Shane and Colin, daughter-in-law Niamh, grandchildren Oisín, Fionn, Tadhg, Hannah, Jack, Isobel, Christopher, Louis, Edward, Harry, Samuel, Patrick, Grace and Cree, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Paddy, with one mourner writing,

"Our deepest sympathies to Ann and all the Keenan Family on the very sad passing of Pat (Birdie). One of life’s true gentlemen and a talented footballer. Always enjoyed our chats when we met. May his gentle soul rest in peace."

Another wrote,

"Sincere sympathy extended to Ann and family on the passing of Pat. A lovely man with a smile on his face ready for a chat. A people's person. May he rest in peace."

While another wrote,

"May I offer my sincere condolences and sympathies to the families and many friends of paddy " Birdie " Keenan . You were one fantastic man who enjoyed life to the fullest. May your gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at his residence (eircode R35 AY28) on Wednesday afternoon from 2pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 11:20am arriving St Coleman's Church, Mucklagh for Requiem Mass at 12 noon.

Interment afterwards in the adjoining New Cemetery.

House Private on Thursday Morning, Please.

Paddy's Requiem Mass will be streamed live on.
