The Regional Manager for Teagasc has urged farmers to look for an early appointment with their Teagasc Adviser for Single Payment Applications.
Larry O’Loughlin said that all completed single payment applications must be submitted to the Department of Agriculture Office by close of business on May 15.
He commented, “late applications will incur financial penalties. Teagasc will be dealing with a considerable number of forms over the next five weeks and while some applications are straight forward, many will require a significant time input, especially where land parcels and maps have to be changed on the application.”
“It is critical therefore in order to process all applications by the closing date that farmers make an early appointment with their Teagasc adviser and not leave it until the last days,” said Mr O’Loughlin.
He also said that when farmers are coming in for their appointment with Teagasc that they should ensure they have all relevant documentation including, application form, maps if required and other relevant information, eg partnership agreements.
The contact details for Offaly is the office is 057 9321405.
In conclusion the Teagasc Regional Manager said, “prior appointments are essential to guarantee that the applications will be processed. Farmers can make an appointment by ringing their local office at the above number.”
