Evening of song and poetry in the Wolftrap

A special night of song and poetry will be held in Tullamore on Thursday, June 28 for two worthy causes.

A special night of song and poetry will be held in Tullamore on Thursday, June 28 for two worthy causes.

The evening will feature performances from Pat Shortall, Dominic Madden, Boneyard Boys, Gavin Ghee, Clav, Joe Wynne and Karl Duffy and friends while poetry will be offered by Seamus Kirwan, Charlie Whittaker and Joe Connolly Proceeds all in aid of Ballinamere NS Marian Junior Special Pre-School and Charleville Cottage respite services.

Tickets cost €7, which can be paid at the door on the night or bought from Cafe India, who will supply food on the night, from Ballinamere NS, Charleville Cottage or Marian Junior.

The night will also feature a special performance by a group called the Units of Rock.

The group is from the Autism Unit in Ballinamere NS and is comprised of 11 children and three teachers. All the children have a diagnosis of Autism. The rock group performed in their own school on World Autism Day and raised €2,000 for the school.

The group is the opening act on the night and will perform a full set of eight songs and even has its own youtube channel (unitsofrock).
