SKY has announced Olympic gold-medallist boxer Katie Taylor as their ambassador for the Digital Switchover campaign. With less than 10 days to go until the Digital Switchover on 24 October, analogue viewers who have yet to make the switch to digital do not have much time left!.
Katie Taylor, Sky Ireland’s Digital Switchover ambassador says, “TV plays such an important role in Irish people’s lives so I’m pleased to help Sky raise awareness of the need to switch to digital TV. From 24 October, if you don’t have digital TV, you’ll be left with a blank screen so make sure you make the switch!”
Mark Deering, Director of Corporate Affairs, Sky Ireland commented, “Katie is an Irish sporting legend who has made the country proud so we couldn’t be happier to welcome her as a Sky ambassador for the Digital Switchover. Our sales teams are seeing significant demand for Sky across the country and we expect this to continue right up to the deadline in 9 days’ time.”
Recent research undertaken on behalf of Sky Ireland reveals that Graham Norton is the TV presenter that people would miss most if their TV suddenly stopped working. And with the Digital Switchover closing in, according to the research, many households have just over a week to avoid the Cork star disappearing from their TV screens!
Graham Norton was the universal top choice amongst both male and female respondents, although perhaps unsurprisingly Jeff Stelling from ‘Soccer Saturday’ was the second most popular TV personality amongst men.
