Offaly film location sought

A PRODUCTION company are interested in scouting Offaly for a house which would be the main location of a new Irish feature film called ‘Frank’, where an enthusiastic, if not terribly good bunch of musicians attempt to write their first album.

They are looking for a house in an isolated area, ideally near water. The house is an important part of the story and should have an interesting feel to it, not a standard generic piece of architecture but something slightly more interesting like a period/heritage house or unusual 60’s and 70’s builds.

As this is an Irish Film Board funded film, there would be a fee for the property owners.

The house would be required for filming for four weeks towards the end of this year and into January with further six weeks of work within the region to set up and complete the project.

The film will bring important investment into Offaly.

If you know of a house or live in such a house, can you email a jpg image to arts@offalycoco.ie by Monday August 13. All images will be sent to the production company for consideration, before they decide to visit them.

Your assistance and enthusiastic response in helping to bring this film to Offaly, would be greatly appreciated!
