THE rain held off for Port’s parade, and crowds lined the town from French Church street to the viewing stand, where MCs Willie Murphy and Ciarán Dunne kept them entertained.

Dignitaries included councillors Tom Mulhall, Ray Cribbin, Eddie Fitzpatrick and Paul Mitchell, with PP Fr Dooley and Rev Leslie Stephenson. The theme was Port’s Vision 2020, and the parade showed the new found community spirit, with hundreds of children taking part.
