Offaly loves live music

From a music marathon in Edenderry to a platform performance at Tullamore train station we are being treated to the very best of music and all for free. National Music Day is about bringing professional music performance to the public and showcasing the quality of musicianship in Offaly.

Events in Tullamore….

1pm – 2pm:- Richard Brennan at Tullamore Library. This singer and guitarist performs a lunchtime acoustic session in the Tullamore Library. Richard is originally from Dublin and has been living and working in Offaly since 2005, his eclectic taste in music, ranges from Altan to ZZ Top.

6pm – 7.15pm:-St Colmcille’s Pipe Band at Tullamore Train Station Tullamore’s very own 2013 British Pipe Champions and multi award winners will serenade Irish Rail passengers as they embark and disembark at the Station.

7pm – 8pm:- Tullamore Cantori Choir at Tullamore Hospital will sing for the patients, staff and visitors during evening visiting hours in the lobby.

Events in Edenderry….

1pm – 8pm :-Edenderry Music Marathon at Public Access Arts (JKL St) everyone is invited to come in, stop and listen to a range of emerging and professional musicians throughout the day including:- 12pm -Troy O’Brien (DJ Deck), 1pm- Orin Tulie (Acoustic Guitar), 2pm- Edenderry Boys School Band, 4pm- Lloyd Mulligan (Guitar), 6pm- Eden Chorale, 7pm -Bob Batty (Saxophone) 8pm -Fergus Conaghan (Oboe) is joined by Eden Chorale and other performers.

Comhaltas Birr, Edenderry, Rahan and Rhode are also playing in their local areas:- Edenderry Comhaltas 6pm – 8pm –Edenderry Library, Rahan Comhaltas 9pm – 11pm Rahan Parish Hall, Birr Comhaltas 8pm – 9pm, Green Street Birr, Rhode Comhaltas 9pm – 12pm, Killeen’s Bar Rhode.
