An action packed night of local talent, combined with an open night for people to give their input into this year’s Phoenix Arts Festival takes place on Friday March 11 at 8pm in Fergie’s of Market Square. Artists, sculptors, basketweavers, candle-makers, face-painters, balloon modelers, dancers, musicians - anyone with a talent or skill that they can contribute to this year’s festival are most welcome. Representatives from local groups in Tullamore and the wider Offaly area are encouraged to put on a display or lecture and are also invited to attend.
This year ‘The Phoenix’ is looking to build on last year’s success by providing a jam-packed, feel-good weekend for all the family in our beautiful local park. The festival committee is working closely with community groups and businesses to compile an extensive festival programme for Saturday May 7 and Sunday May 8, along with an event management plan as part of the application porcess to Tullamore Town Council for use of the Town Park.
If you or your group are interested in getting involved, either as a performer, demonstrator, organiser or volunteer, call into us from 8pm on Friday March 11, upstairs in Fergie’s bar. There will be local live music and entertainment on the night with various artistic acts and special guests from around Offaly. Come along and speak to those already involved to have your say and how to get involved. Hope to see you there! Event applications available online - http://www.phoenixfestival.ie
