Tullamore Amateur Dramatic Society (TADS) finished its One-Act Drama Festival tour last weekend in Prosperous to great reviews from the adjudicator.
He commented on what good performances there were from the cast and how courageous TADS was to perform an original play, Deadmen Walking, written by TADS’ member Padraic Seery. TADS’ actors Joanne Hussey and Ed Kelly received nominations for best actors at two other festivals (Cavan and Skerries, respectively) and the general cast received very positive reviews throughout the circuit run. Indeed, the play came second place in Carrigallen.
TADS would like to sincerely thank Ned Kelly and Michael Dunne for their expertise on sound and lighting and their unerring ability to find each venue – and be there on time!! They are a tremendous new addition to TADS. Also, a sincere thank you to all extra stage hands and crew who, at times, doubled up as non-speaking extras.
Finally, a heartfelt thanks to local businesses who loyally support us by providing props and rehearsal venues during our dramatic endeavours: Eugene Kelly, Emmet Lynch, The Central Hotel, Island Farm Food, Sue Ryders and Gay Veitch.
TADS will be resuming activities in the New Year and is planning readings to find a new play to perform in the Spring. Please keep up with any new ventures on Facebook. On a final note, TADS would like to wish all its members, both past and present, a very peaceful and festive season of goodwill and a prosperous 2013!!
