AN exciting new exhibition of paintings, ‘All Types of Everything’, now adorns the walls of Mountmellick library after it was unveiled on Tuesday, March 6.
The exhibition is the work of the Geashill Art group and contains 50 individual paintings with a variety of themes. Unveiled by Cllr Ger Plunkett, the group is no stranger to exhibiting their work having undertaken their first exhibition in 2009.
The group is now in its third year and group member, Madge Bagnall explained that the group has gone from strength to strength since it began three years ago. Talking about the exhibition, the artist said that there are all types of paintings making up this latest exhibition with differing and exciting themes.
This is also not the group’s first exhibition in the Mountmellick library and the group are delighted to make a return visit to the venue.
Ms Bagnall said that it is a “fantastic venue” for their paintings, which she said was also noted by Cllr Ger Plunkett when he officially unveiled the exhibition.
Each week, the group sees between 10 and 11 artists attending the group and now, they are now hopefully that people will come and visit their works and support them in their endeavours in the coming weeks.
