Birr Stage Guild brings a play of nostalgia, expectations and broken dreams to Birr Theatre & Arts Centre from Thursday – Saturday, March 22 - 24 in Kevin’s Bed.
The setting is the celebration of the golden wedding anniversary of Dan and Doris - a time for them to return to their old house, join in their celebrations, contemplate a life in disarray and remember the joy of their silver anniversary - the Sonny and Cher days, the optimism and the expectations they had of their sons, John and Kevin.
Birr Film Club’s presentation on Tuesday, March 27 is Cell 211. This Spanish language film is both engaging and intense with striking performances and tells of Juan Oliver, a new prison officer who becomes caught up in a prison riot and has to pretend to be a new prisoner in order to survive.
Cell 211 won several Goya Awards from the Spanish Academy, including Best Picture, Director, Actor and Supporting Actress.
