Offaly Crafty to combat negativity with new exhibition

Offaly Crafty is combatting negativity with Gratitude, a visual arts exhibition in Aras an Chontae Tullamore.

Crossing a wide spectrum of crafts the exhibition will include Oil and Acrylic paintings, Soft Furnishings, Metal Jewellery, Sculpture and more.

In a world of 24/7 news and negativity, artists from across Offaly are joining forces in a unique and creative visual response to their craft under the theme of Gratitude.

Artists include Daingean's Olive Cuskelly, a local professional visual artist and designer who has exhibited widely with her works becoming part of many private and public collections in Ireland, England, France, Australia and most recently America.

Chairperson Elma Lawless says the group wants to leave a positive thought-provoking impact on visitors, “There’s enough negativity out there. This is a show for everyone," she said.

Gratitude opens Friday, September 28th at 5.30 and runs until Friday 26th of October in Áras an Chontae Tullamore.
