'Thrilling' new play to get spectacular Offaly staging
The Nightmares Of Mullaroe, a new play from the mind of Shane Nestor, is set to be staged spectcularly inside the walls of the historic Charleville Castle in Tullamore.
Act Up will premiere the new play in the Morning Room at Charleville Castle on May 19. "With the castle's renown for ghosts and paranormal activity we feel it is a perfect setting for this thrilling new play," organisers have said.
The play centres on a German musician and her brother who have returned to sell the Kerry estate where their mother was murdered thirty years before.
Anneliese is a concert pianist suffering from stage fright. When her father dies, she and her brother Leopold, inherit Mullaroe estate.
Eerie disturbances in the cold 19th century mansion, with its nearby castle ruins, cause Anneliese to postpone the sale which brings ominous pressure from all corners including her own brother. Her only refuge is her mother's old housekeeper, Breda.
The spooky premise will be hauntingly brought to life in the surrounds of Charleville Castle, Tullamore, on May 19 at 8pm. Tickets are priced at €12 and are available from firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 0877951558.
