Harriers Juvenile athletes excel at All Ireland Indoor Championships
Following recent success at the Leinster Championships, Tullamore Harriers juvenile athletes travelled to Athlone IT on Saturday last, April 6, to take part in the All Ireland Indoor Relays and Field events.
Jack Saunders put in a jump of 5.06 metres in the Boys u16 Long Jump to finish ninth overall. Unfortunately, Evan Farrelly had to withdraw from the Boys u15 Long Jump due to injury.
In the 4 x 200 metre Relay events, Tullamore Harriers was represented in the Girls u17 event by Grainne Lawlor, Katelyn Farrelly, Shauna Slattery, Kate Cunningham and Katie Bourke. In the heats, the girls lead from start to finish to run a time of 1:47.32 which earned automatic qualification for the final. In the final, they lined up against top quality teams from around the country. They put in a super run with a time of 1:45.79 to finish third and take the bronze medal. Congratulations and well done girls.
In the Boys u16 4 x 200 metres, Luke Bourke, Jack Saunders, Philip Dunne and Evan Cunningham ran a good heat in a time of 1:43.12 to qualify for the finals. After a short break, and an unlucky draw in lane one, they ran a time of 1:44.73 to finish sixth overall. Well done lads. It was a great experience and success for all the young athletes on the day. Thanks to the coaches and parents for their time and effort in helping and guiding the young athletes. Congratulations and well done to all involved.
Tullamore Harriers Spring League 3rd Leg – 1 Mile Burlington
The 2019 Spring League concluded on Tuesday, April 2 with the mile race around Burlington Industrial Estate. Leonard Mooney and Nadine Donegan were the fastest man and woman out of almost 60 runners. Team captains: Paul Shaw, Fallen Conlon, Tara McKinney and Jay Donegan now wait on the final results after the three legs of the league are amalgamated to establish which team will celebrate the overall win! Well done to everyone who ran and supported their team.

Irish Mountain Running Associations
Dearbhail Cuddy and Philip King were winners of the Junior races at the Irish Mountain Running Associations race Glenbarrow - River to Ridge on Sunday, April 7. Aidan Egan also competed in the River to Ridge race and covered the longer 8k distance. Aidan finished in 9 th place overall in 42.02. Great running Aidan, Dearbhail and Philip.
Irish Universities Athletics Association Championships
Congrats to Nadine Donegan on winning a silver medal in the women's 5000m at the Irish Universities Athletics Association Championships Athlone IT, held on Friday, April 5.
Lough Boora Half Marathon/Relay/5k
The club had a great representation in Lough Boora for the annual Lough Boora Half Marathon, relay and 5k races held on Sunday, April 7. On a perfect morning for running the athletes covered the various distances in the picturesque Lough Boora Discovery Park. First man home for the club in the Half Marathon in 7th place overall, and taking the o50 age group prize, was Eanna Gowran with a time of 1:22:26. First lady for Tullamore Harriers was Sinead Rigney who is making steady improvements since coming back from injury. Sinead posted 1:33:52. All our athletes raced really well with personal bests
into the bargain! Rita Daly and Mary Galvin were first in their respective age groups.

Rotterdam Marathon 2019
Pauric Ennis and Eddie Garry flew the flag for the club in Holland on Sunday, April 7 when they lined up for the Rotterdam Marathon. This ever-popular marathon was won by Kenyan Marius Kipserem with a course record of 2:04:11. Pauric suffered gastric issues during the early stages of the race but posted a super time of 2:45:31 finishing in 212th place overall. Eddie too ran a fine race with a finish of 2:55:33 - 417th place overall. Well done guys.
Manchester Marathon 2019
Also on Sunday, April 7, David Murray joined almost 14,000 others in the Manchester Marathon. The race was won by Aaron Richmond (UK) in 2.21.21. David posted 2hr 46:49 finishing 161 st overall. Well done David on a fantastic performance.
Kildare Wine on the Line 10k
A few of our ladies took on the Kildare Wine on the Line 10k on Sunday 31 st March. Along with the medal they were given some vino to celebrate crossing the line! Fallen Conlon was first of the ladies in 54.38. Next was Sinead Kelly in 54.39. Clare Lawlor posted 58.16 and Rachael Muztagh 59.42. AnnMarie Lawlor ran her first 10k and finished in 1.02. Well done ladies.

Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon 2019
Registration is now opens for the 2019 Tullamore Harriers Quinlan Cup Half Marathon. The 7th annual event will take place on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Last year we sold out early and unfortunately many were disappointed they didn’t make the cut off of 1,000 entries. Again this year we will cap the entries at 1,000 so please register to secure your place. The relay race will go ahead again this year. The Leinster and Offaly Half Marathon Championships will be incorporated into this year's race. Every year we get huge positive feedback from participants and spectators alike who praise the friendly atmosphere and quality of the Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon.
