Shinrone and Rynagh's set up Camogie final date

Shinrone and St.Rynaghs will meet again in the senior camogie final again as last year’s finalists were both pushed to the pin of their collars in the semi-finals last Saturday respectively.

Shinrone 3-9 Birr 1-12

In the first game of the day, it looked all one-way traffic for Shinrone as they cruised to a 1-6 to 0-4 by halftime. Kerri McLeish found the net early on while Mairead Jennings found the posts for some Birr frees. Birr were dealt a further blow when Kerri McLeish found the net seconds into the second half. This goal motivated Birr to make a comeback, however, a goal from Grainne Egan gave Shinrone some breathing space to secure their final spot.

St.Rynaghs 2-13 Lus/Drum 1-11

The second game of the day saw St.Rynaghs edge out a gutsy Lusmagh/Drumcullen with five points to spare. The county champions made easy work of last year's junior champions in the opening ten minutes with Mairead Daly and Siobhan Flannery finding the net. However a purple patch midway through the second half seen Lus/Drum score five points without reply from Ann Marie Guinan, Leah Gath and Elaine Dermody. Lus/Drum struggled to eat into the lead that St.Rynaghs created early on but managed to narrow the gap to one in the second half from a Kaitlyn Kennedy goal. The undefeated champions, however, held on with points from Siobhan Flannery, Kate Kenny and Mairead Daly to book their county final spot again.
