An Garda Síochana and the Road Safety Authority have set up their mobile information and interactive units in Clara this week.

Both units are manned and will be open in the town on Wednesday and Thursday, June 20/21.

At the Garda Crime Prevention vehicle, located outside Baggot's in Clara, will be the Laois-Offaly Crime Prevention officer, Sgt. Graham Kavanagh, as well as Sgt. David Scahill and Garda Jean Tierney.

The gardaí will be available there on Wednesday and Thursday to advise people on crime prevention measures and engage with the public on a number of safety issues.

Also in Clara this week is the RSA's interactive mobile unit, located opposite Scoil Naofa on Frederick Street. The crew there will be educating people about motor safety, motorbike safety and cycle safety.

Their exhibits include car and motorbike simulators showing the reality of road safety for all road users.
