Tullamore Credit Union Ltd has shown its support for organisations and initiatives that benefit the local community by awarding a number of grants under the Community Support Fund.

This year’s Community Support Fund presentation night took place in the Tullamore Court Hotel on Wednesday, April 3.

On the night, chairperson Fra Mollen stated that this year the fund was presenting 76 awards totalling €50,000! All applicants must be within the common bond of Tullamore Credit Union Ltd – ensuring that all funds are returned for the betterment of local people.

Board Secretary Eileen Brophy acted as MC for the event, also in attendance were representatives from Offaly County Council, Tullamore Municipal Council, Tullamore & District Chamber of Commerce, Tullamore Tidy Towns and special guest speaker, Caren Carruthers, from Geashill Tidy Towns.

The awards night also saw the launch of the very popular Tidy Tullamore competition – entry forms are available in the office and through the website www.tullamorecu.ie, closing date is May 17, 2019.

Awardees on the night included Special Olympics Ireland and Tullamore Canoe Club, Tullamore TradFest, Midlands Science, St Carthages AFC, Tullamore Community Radio, Arden View Active Age, Friends of Midlands Hospital, Croghan Development Group and Tyrrellspass GAA.
