With ideal traffic arrangements and extra train services for the three-day event, the location in the midlands again proved to be ideal.
The 95th National Ploughing Championships came to a close on Thursday after three fantastic days in Screggan, Tullamore, with 75,000 visitors attending Day Three and 243,000 attending across the three days.
The final day got off to a busy start with European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen taking to the ploughing before visiting a number of stands and meeting exhibitors and agricultural organisations.
Offaly Local Enterprise Office commented: “A huge thank you to everyone who helped the LEO Offaly team make it happen, and to the organisers for bringing this incredible event to Offaly.
“From the fantastic tent and brilliant coverage to the thousands of visitors who stopped by, the event had a real buzz. We were incredibly proud to see Offaly businesses showcasing the very best of our county on a national stage,” they said.
